Making The Most of a Broken Pressed Powder

Published by amkaylor at 5:43 pm under Foundation and Powder Edit This

We have all had it happen:  You are standing in the bathroom, applying pressed powder when the compact slips from your hand and crashes to the bathroom floor.  Sometimes, the case breaks, making any hope of salvaging the compact disappear.

But sometimes, the compact stays closed, even though the powder inside has just cracked into a million pieces.  Just because the powder inside has cracked, doesn’t mean it has to be tossed in the trash!

Go to any beauty supply store and you should be able to find a small, plastic jar with a sifter top. These sifter tops are great, because they allow you to turn a broken pressed powder into a nicely contained loose powder.

Simply pour the broken pressed powder contents into the sifter jar, and tightly close.  Give the jar a good shake before each use and the pressed powder fragment will slowly dissolve into a nicely milled loose powder.

While you may want to replace the pressed powder, so you have something for your purse, you can use the newly made loose powder to set your makeup at home instead.
